About Brand

D.Sign.D was founded in 2013 by Chennai-based designer Jeevitha Sakthivel with a simple but powerful intent, to create clothing that truly understands the person wearing it. What started as a bridal-focused label has grown into a design house known for its thoughtful approach to craftsmanship, fit, and individuality.

From the very beginning, the brand has placed people at its core. Every D.Sign.D piece is designed with an acute understanding of comfort, movement, and personal expression. This philosophy comes to life in our signature bridal blouses, where each design is not just made to measure, but made to reflect a story, carefully hand-cut and finished by skilled artisans to achieve a couture standard.

In 2024, this commitment to real women and real bodies led to the introduction of our Size-Flex Blouse - a thoughtful innovation designed to adapt to changing bodies. Created with both practicality and elegance in mind, it redefines how blouses are worn, offering flexibility without compromising on structure or style.

Continuing this journey of innovation, 2025 marked the launch of our men’s wear line, featuring our signature dhotis. Designed entirely in-house and woven on our own looms, these dhotis bring together heritage techniques and contemporary aesthetics. They reflect our belief that tradition can evolve becoming more relevant, refined, and design-driven for today’s generation.

Our design language is rooted in the balance between tradition and modernity. Whether it’s through unexpected color pairings, clean cuts, or intricate detailing, every collection is created to feel timeless yet current.

Alongside our couture offerings, Kriyah, our saree vertical, celebrates the richness of Indian textiles through a curated selection of handpicked weaves each chosen for its character, craftsmanship, and story.

As we grow, we continue to look ahead. D.Sign.D is steadily integrating modern technology into its processes, shaping a more seamless and elevated experience for our clients. With a vision to expand beyond Chennai, the brand is working towards establishing a global presence through thoughtfully designed spaces in the years to come.

At its heart, D.Sign.D remains what it has always been a brand built on listening, understanding, and creating with purpose.

About The Designer

Jeevitha Sakthivel didn’t grow up discovering design one day, it was something she absorbed, quietly, over time.

As a child, she often found herself sitting under her father’s desk while he worked listening to conversations about fabrics, production, pricing, and people. It wasn’t something she was formally taught, but those moments stayed with her. Without realizing it, she was learning how a business runs, how decisions are made, and how deeply textiles are connected to people’s lives. That early exposure planted both an instinct for design and a natural inclination towards entrepreneurship.

Coming from a family with over 45 years in the textile industry, her foundation was already strong. She went on to study fashion design, graduating with distinction, where she began shaping her own voice—one that respects tradition but isn’t afraid to question it.

What sets Jeevitha apart is her ability to observe and respond. Early in her journey, she recognized a gap, clothing was often designed to fit a template, not a person. That understanding became the backbone of her work.

Through D.Sign.D, she built a brand that focuses on the wearer first. Her bridal designs are known for their balance of elegance and ease, never overwhelming, always intentional. Her approach to kidswear prioritizes comfort without losing charm, and her menswear, including the dhoti line introduced in 2025, reflects a quiet confidence rooted in culture yet shaped for today.

Her time at IIM Bangalore further sharpened her perspective, helping her bring structure to her creative instincts and scale her ideas with clarity.

Jeevitha continues to explore how design can evolve alongside people whether through innovations like adaptive sizing or by developing fabrics on her own looms. For her, fashion isn’t just about how something looks, but how it lives with the person wearing it.

For anyone starting out, her journey is a reminder that inspiration doesn’t always come from big moments. Sometimes, it begins in small, unnoticed spaces like sitting quietly under a desk, listening, observing, and slowly understanding the world.

Her vision now is to take D.Sign.D to a global stage, carrying forward the same values she grew up with thoughtfulness, craftsmanship, and purpose.
